Starting November Off Right

I know I say this a lot, but our comedians this weekend were amazing. Not only were they insanely funny, but some of the nicest guys I’ve met in my time at The Comedy Bar. Let’s get to know them a little bit better!

Samuel Priest (loosely translated to “Name of God”) is an extremely popular local comedian. He’s a club favorite and truly is one of my favorite comedians in the city. Here’s a description of an interaction between Sam and I that supports my claim that he’s just an angel:

Samuel walks up innocently, instead of saying hello like a normal person would, I just put my hand out towards him. Being the stand-up guy he is, he gave me the kindest look he could muster and grabbed my hand before saying “you made it weird again.”

We were extremely excited to have Calvin Evans on our stage again this weekend as our feature comedian. He’s a fantastic stand-up who you can also see on Shameless and Kevin Hart’s Hart of the City. He had our audiences cracking up all weekend and we hope to have him back really soon! Keep an eye out for him to hit our stage in the future. It’s also worth mentioning that when you wave and smile at him like a lunatic for no apparent reason, he’s a real gent and waves back!

Heath Harmison is brand new to our stage but it’s safe to say that he will definitely be welcomed back. He just returned from performing in Europe and throughout the weekend he was practically getting standing ovations from our audiences. Also, I learned a valuable lesson which is: When you’re speaking to a comedian who is not from Chicago and they go outside for a minute you should not say in creepy voice “you be careful out there.”

That’s all for this week. Next week we have Kellye Howard in the club. Come and check out another amazing lineup!
